
Biography.
Rick Larrea is a Mexican composer and music producer with extensive experience in composing music for TV and media productions.
His skills range from composing and arranging to creating complete finished media productions, encompassing music and lyrics to incidental background music.
His works are used in many productions by the main TV broadcast station in Mexico City, "Televisa Univisión," providing both national and international exposure for his creations.
Rick Larrea has composed music for various Mexican TV series and soaps such as "El Amor Invencible," "El Último Rey," "La Herencia," "Corazón Guerrero," "Contigo Sí," "Soltero con Hijas," "Quererlo Todo," "Qué le Pasa a mi Familia," "Mi Marido Tiene Familia," "Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia," "Sin tu Mirada," "A Road to Destiny (Un Camino hacia el Destino)," "The Hotel of Secrets (El Hotel de los Secretos)," "The Unforgivable (Lo Imperdonable)," "I'd Rather Be Dead than Ordinary (Antes Muerta que Lichita)," "Mi Corazón es Tuyo," "Amores con Trampa," "The Voice (La Voz México)," "Qué Bonito Amor," and "Por El Planeta," among many other projects.
He has been awarded three times at the BMI Film, TV, and Visual Media Awards in Los Angeles, California, for his work.
In 2024, he won a BMI Film & TV Music Award for the music of "El Amor Invencible."
In 2019, he won a BMI Film & TV Music Award for the music of "Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia."
In 2015, he won a BMI Film & TV Music Award for the music of "Mi Corazón es Tuyo."
He has also won several awards in Mexico City at the film festival "Pantalla de Cristal" for scoring and producing the original music for the TV series "Por El Planeta," earning Best Music Scoring awards in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2023.
In 2016, he was selected by BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) to participate in the Conductors Workshop, taught by BMI Classic Contribution Award winner, conductor, and composer Lucas Richman. Along with eight other selected participants, he had the opportunity to hone his conducting skills, from mastering fundamentals and multi-meter scores to conducting to picture with a 32-piece orchestra.
Rick Larrea is a multi-instrumentalist, playing piano, guitar, drums, bass, percussion, and synth programming, among many other instruments.
